Leandro Paredes at risk of losing starting spot in Mourinho’s line-up

Andy Mattioli

Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes is hoping to improve his form in Roma’s upcoming busy stretch of games.

After a slow start to the season, Paredes’ position in Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven could be at risk.

According to Il Messaggero, Paredes – who has featured in almost every single game for Roma, frequently starting alongside Bryan Cristante – could see his minutes reduced with the return of Lorenzo Pellegrini and Renato Sanches.

Sanches, in fact, could overtake Paredes’ position. To Mourinho, the best version of Roma entails a midfield of Cristante, Sanches and Pellegrini with Leandro Paredes, Houssem Aouar and Edoardo Bove ready to come off the bench.

Thus, it will be up to Paredes himself to prove the Special One wrong as Roma face the toughest part of their schedule.
