Leandro Paredes is projected to start in this weekend’s Serie A fixture with Sassuolo.

The Argentine midfielder was recently given a chance to rest as Roma fought Brighton in the return leg of Europa League Round of 16 without requiring his help.

Over recent weeks, Paredes became one of Roma’s most important players, providing De Rossi’s squad with intelligent playmaking from the back.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, after being rested on Thursday night, Paredes will resume his duties as the team’s central playmaker, the ‘regista’ in a midfield composed of Bryan Cristante and Lorenzo Pellegrini.

The most important change, however, will take place in the attack where Sardar Azmoun is expected to step in as Romelu Lukaku’s replacement given the Belgian striker’s injury.
