Lecce’s Samuel Umtiti still bitter over Roma loss, calls match official’s behaviour “unfavourable”

Andy Mattioli

Lecce defender Samuel Umtiti spoke about his season debut with the newly promoted Serie A side in a recent press conference appearance. The ex-Barca man did not sound pleased with the way his side lost the match at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday after going down to ten men following a red card by referee Alessandro Prontera.

“Playing against Roma in Rome is never easy for anybody,” he told reporters on Friday. “There you always play very emotional games.”

“The referee’s behaviour at the Olimpico was not in our favour, but what matters is that we remain focused on our gameplan.”

“We have to keep working hard and face every game in the best way possible,” he concluded.
