Lega Serie A has officially announced that stadiums within Italy’s top flight can return to 75% capacity.
In a widely anticipated move as Italy begins easing COVID-19 restrictions, the league revealed the decision was made in accordance with the FIGC (Italian FA) and takes effect immediately.
However, only Super Green Pass holders will be permitted to enter Serie A stadiums. The Super Green Pass was introduced in December and serves as a reinforced version of the basic Green Pass.
The Super Green Pass proves the holder has been vaccinated, tested negative or recovered from a COVID-19 infection.
Stadiums are expected to return to full capacity beginning in March or April but an official announcement still hasn’t been made.
In response, Roma stated on their website they will begin increasing capacity at the Stadio Olimpico beginning March 5th against Atalanta.
