Ansa – The Lega Serie A Council released a statement today following their meeting regarding the future for Italian football in the midst of the Coronavirus outbreak.
“Having met today, the Lega Serie A Council has unanimously confirmed its intention to complete the 2019/2020 season, if the government allows it to take place, in full compliance with the rules for the protection of health and safety,” the statement reads.
The statement also notes that “the resumption of sporting activity will take place in accordance with the direction of FIFA and UEFA, the decisions of the FIGC, as well as in compliance with the medical protocols to protect players and staff”.
