Legendary Roma and Milan fullback Cafu discussed the two teams’ upcoming Europa League clash in the competition’s quarterfinals.

In an interview with Il Messaggero, Cafu reflected on his time at both clubs including the historic Scudetto won with the Giallorossi in 2001.

“I spent 6 years at Roma and it was a crazy period of time. With that team we will remain in history forever,” said the Brazilian footballer.

“When I went to Milan, initially it seemed easier to win. Then we succeeded but it wasn’t as easy as everyone made it out to be.”

“It is clear that Roma represented my home immediately after leaving Brazil, I played the Champions League there for the first time, so Roma obviously hold a special place in my heart.”

“De Rossi? I’m always very happy when I see my former teammates doing well. And seeing Daniele lead Roma today and thinking about that boy who barely got any playing time with us and is now the coach of the team he loves, can only please me.”

“Football is truly incredible. I feel weird for even having to call him coach. I would be lying if I said I expected him to become a coach,” concluded Cafu.
