Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers spoke at a pre-match press conference today and admitted that his side are closing in on the acquisition of Roma’s Cengiz Ünder, who is nearing an exit from the Giallorossi after three seasons.
“He’s a very good player,” Rodgers said.
“There’s been negotiations so we’re hopeful. We need a different type of attacking player. Having watched him, he’s clearly a talented player”.
“We have pace and power at the top end, but we also need some more football in there”.
“We need someone who can beat someone in a one versus one, we need someone who can break down defences who are organised, when it’s tight. That’s the profile we’re looking at”.
Ünder underwent his medical earlier today and is set to join the Foxes on loan with an obligation to buy in a deal totaling €27 million.
