RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann spoke at a press conference today and discussed the future of Patrik Schick.
The Czech attacker joined the Bundesliga side during the summer on loan with an option to buy for €29 million, however, the option expired as of yesterday.
“Patrik’s a dream player for me, but everything has to be done within reason,” said Nagelsmann according to Kicker.
”We’re also struggling from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic so we cannot throw money around”.
He concluded, lWe cannot pay the requested amount, so we are still negotiating.”.
The former Sampdoria man has made it clear over recent months that he would prefer to remain at Leipzig as opposed to potentially returning to Roma.
