Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan joining Milan

Just one day after clinching the Ligue 1 title, Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan is nearing a transfer to Milan.

Sky Sport reports that the 25 year-old will arrive in Italy tomorrow morning to undergo his medical with the Rossoneri. The Italians will pay €15 million for Maignan, who was also previously linked with a potential switch to Roma.

However, after officially clinching Champions League football this past weekend, Milan worked quickly to finalise a deal for the Frenchman as contract renewal talks with Gigio Donnarumma have stalled.

The Italian’s time with Milan is close to ending after he and his agent, Mino Raiola, have been unable to reach an agreement for a new contract. His current deal expires next month, but Milan executive Paolo Maldini was unwilling to continue waiting.
