Jordan Veretout continues to draw interest from France as the midfielder readies himself to depart from the Italian capital after three seasons with the Giallorossi.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Lille have joined the race for the player who most recently was linked to other French clubs including Marseille and Lyon.
The interest in Veretout may stem from the rumored appointment of former Roma manager Paulo Fonseca as Lille’s head coach.
The Portuguese boss may have already indicated his preferred summer targets, with Veretout being one of them given his excellent performances during Fonseca’s tenure in the Italian capital.
In case Roma and Lille were to engage in negotiations over the French midfielder, the deal would be separate from the one including Turkish fullback Zeki Çelik, who is nearing a move to Roma.
