Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco spoke today ahead of tomorrow’s clash against Chievo. These are his words:
Will the commitment with Porto affect the choices for Chievo?
There are players who will not even be called up, Olsen will miss tomorrow’s game with a knock, as will Manolas – but we hope to have both back for Tuesday’s game against Porto. De Rossi will need to be monitored, as naturally he is still not at 100%, but Juan Jesus is back and will travel with us.
What are the dangers of tomorrow?
The smaller teams are dangerous and we’ve been lacking continuity. But we must be more cynical and we have to play in defence as we did with Milan.
The right side with Karsdorp and Schick is possible for tomorrow?
It’s possible. Karsdorp has been more consistent defensively in the last few games – he’s really been working hard and has given us balance. Schick showed spirit and ruthlessness in the last game. Both could well start tomorrow.
Could a 4-3-3 be used with Nzonzi in and De Rossi out?
They are two players with certainly different characteristics, they balance our midfield. We have played over 20 games with the 4-2-3-1 and some have been great. But our attitude is more important than our formation.
Florenzi is enduring a poor spell.
I’m convinced the the growth of Karsdorp is motivation. Competition in a team is good for everyone. He’s training well and I’m convinced he’ll get back to shining —- he always puts himself at the disposal of the team.
Kolarov has had issues with the fans after the episode at Termini.
We are all human and everyone makes mistakes. Sometimes people can go over the top. But Aleksandar has always shown great dedication – remember he played for a month and half with a fractured foot. He has always given everything for Roma.
How’s Mirante? What about Fuzato?
Fuzato has grown a lot thanks to the work of Savorani —- he has so much potential. Mirante will play against Chievo but I can assure you Fuzato is a good goalkeeper. He’s working well.
