French fullback Lorenz Assignon is waiting for Roma to make the decisive step in their negotiations with Rennes.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Assignon is currently the favorite to join the capital club and reinforce the right-back position.

With the imminent exit of Rick Karsdorp, Roma want to secure a strong, young replacement.

Assignon, 24 years old and fresh off a positive loan experience with Burnley, has already agreed to the move to the Italian capital.

Moreover, the newspaper adds that Burnley recently made him an offer for another loan but Assignon turned it down as he hopes to draw Roma’s proposal in their talks with Rennes.

Assignon’s estimated price tag ranges between 7-8 million euros, states the newspaper.
