Roma midfielder and captain Lorenzo Pellegrini helped give Roma give an early advantage that was then equalised in the second half by the Foxes in tonight’s first leg of Conference League semis.
“It’s normal to encounter challenges against teams like Leicester,” said Pellegrini in a post-match interview with Sky Sport.
“Today we played a small portion of what we need to complete in the return leg. We’re hopeful and we want to achieve our goal.”
“Tonight, through team sacrifice, we achieved a good result.”
On his teammate Zalewski, who provided the assist to the goal. “Nicola is very good, he’s helping us a lot recently.”
“I always tell him that he is good at creating and exploiting one against one, which is his quality. It created superiority for us and it was easier for me to score that way.”
Finally on the return leg: “We are always optimistic. It will be difficult, but we will play it in Rome, with our fans cheering us on.”
“Tonight we leave satisfied, but above all, motivated,” he concluded.
