Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini praised his team’s determination following their 1-1 draw against Udinese—though, he conceded the result left a lot to be desired.
The midfielder buried a 95th minute penalty to earn the capital club a point, however, they lost more ground to Juventus in the race for the final Champions League place.
“Udinese gives everyone problems. We’ve really struggled in matches immediately following the Conference League,” he explained to DAZN.
“We kept telling ourselves we’ve got to be careful tonight but things didn’t go as we’d hoped. Ultimately though we didn’t give up and we earned a point.”
He added, “We can’t be looking past matches. Right now we’re going to be focused on Thursday and not the Derby next weekend.”
“This has to be the path we take. We’ll think about the Derby starting Friday until then we’re worried about the Conference League and Vitesse.”
