Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini is hoping to steadily improve his form during the upcoming stretch of games.
The Giallorossi are set to face a grueling December and January schedule which will require of Mourinho’s side to play their strongest starting XI without any rest in-between games.
Among the players who are expected to pick up form and make an impact is captain Lorenzo Pellegrini who only recently returned from a prolonged absence caused by a muscle injury.
According to La Repubblica, Pellegrini has held several discussions with Mourinho regarding his status and availability. The midfielder wants to reaffirm his place in the team’s line-up despite having had a difficult last year and a half.
Distant are the days of when Pellegrini collected 14 goals and 8 assists in Mourinho’s first year in the capital.
However, the Roma skipper continues to be an invaluable resource for his team, with Gianluca Mancini acknowledging him in a recent interview as Roma’s ‘super captain’.
