Lorenzo Pellegrini’s eventful night was marked a historical milestone for the Roma captain.
Despite having to come off less than 15 minutes into his appearance tonight against Servette due to an apparent muscle, Pellegrini collected an assist and shortly thereafter scored a beautiful goal.
According to OptaPaolo, Pellegrini’s performance marks the first time since 2006 that a Roma player was able to score and assist as a substitute.
The first and only player to emulate such a performance was David Pizarro against Shakhtar Donetsk on 12 September 2006.
