Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini spoke to GOAL about his experience as captain of his boyhood club and picked his favorite goal scored with Roma over recent years.
“I remember many exciting goals, certainly the two in the derby. Another exciting one was last year against Leicester. That also comes to mind because it underlines our path that led to the victory of the Conference League.”
“I loved the ovation I received when I scored a backheel goal in a 3-1 derby win over Lazio. Both the team and I were coming off a difficult moment, there was a game to win and we did it. That was perhaps one of the games I remember more fondly.”
On his main source of inspiration, “Easy question because every Roman boy has had two points of reference, namely Totti and De Rossi, who have shown the way for all Roman children in love with Roma. As a child I was very much in love with Ronaldinho, because I loved his happiness and the joy he gave you in playing football.”
