Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini appeared on Roma TV to discuss his contract renewal with the club.

The Giallorossi captain put pen to paper on his new deal earlier today, agreeing to extend his stay with his boyhood club until 2026.

“It’s impossible to put into words,” began the midfielder when asked about his emotions after signing his contract.

“This is what I always wanted. Certainly I think it’s come at the right time. It was time to tie my future to the club of my city.”

He continued, “There can’t be any better feeling. Signing the renewal as the captain of the club does make it more special, yes, but the captain’s armband is something you have to earn every day.”

“You can’t take it for granted, you have to earn it each and every day,” he explained.

Pellegrini’s new deal runs until June 2026 and will make him the club’s top earner alongside striker Tammy Abraham.
