Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini is once again on the sidelines due to a muscle injury he suffered in the match against Servette.
The Italian midfielder was initially ruled out of action for around a month as Roma prefer to remain cautious due to Pellegrini’s extensive injury history – almost fifty games missed since 2017 – with several episodes affecting the same hip muscle.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Jose Mourinho is hoping to have him back on the pitch for the Derby della Capitale on 9 November.
For Mourinho Pellegrini remains the undisputed leader of the team and someone whom he can rely on in moments of need. The Special One is thus waiting for Pellegrini to regain peak physical condition.
