To further make matters worse, following a disappointing 1-0 loss to Atalanta at the Stadio Olimpico, Roma risk losing their captain Lorenzo Pellegrini to injury.
As reported by Jose Mourinho in his post-match presser, the Italian midfielder experienced a pain in the flexor muscle of his left leg during the game. Despite the injury, Pellegrini decided to continue and conclude the match on the pitch.
Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport reports that both Pellegrini and Dybala – who went down with a similar injury only minutes away from kick-off – are at risk of missing out on international duty.
Both players will be evaluated in the coming hours by the medical staff of their respective national teams.
