Lorenzo Pellegrini was forced to quit Italy’s training camp in Coverciano ahead of the match against North Macedonia.

The Roma captain suffered a muscle injury – the same one which had put his presence with Milan at risk – and will not be able to continue with Luciano Spalletti’s squad.

Later today, Pellegrini is expected to make his return to Trigoria where he will be supervised by Roma’s medical staff ahead of the Giallorossi’s first game after the break with Empoli.

Pellegrini departed Italy’s training camp together with Juventus attacker Federico Chiesa who similarly suffered a muscle injury.
