Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini was asked to comment on his rapport with manager Jose Mourinho in a recent interview with DAZN. The Italian midfielder highlighted the Special One’s importance for his personal development as well as the team’s progress since his appointment in 2021.
“He’s the number one for me, the best there is. He’s been crucial for me and has taught me so many things, things I never imagined I could learn,” said Pellegrini.
“What I like most about him is that nothing is enough for him. If he doesn’t win the next trophy, he feels sick. If he doesn’t win on Sunday, he feels sick.”
“He gets you to perform at 100% and you immediately perceive his passion – the passion of someone who’s won everything and wants to continue winning. We only played a final with him, and there was no mention of anything other than winning the final.”
