Lorenzo Pellegrini nearing contract renewal until 2026

Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini is set to prolong his stay at the club and end the speculation surrounding his future.

The Italian international has only one year remaining on his current contract and would be able to leave the capital club for free next summer.

However, according to Corriere della Sera, the 25 year-old will sign a new contract that will keep him tied to Roma until 2026. The decision to keep Pellegrini long term was also encouraged by manager José Mourinho, who has a great appreciation for the Roman.

Pellegrini had drawn interest from several clubs both in Italy and abroad, including Liverpool, Tottenham, and Milan. But the midfielder has made it clear that his priority is to remain at his boyhood club and continue under Mourinho.
