As Roma stumbled into their first two losses of the season against the likes of Udinese in Serie A and Ludogorets in Europa League, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Paulo Dybala have drawn criticism for failing to help the team overcome its own limitations including the countless missed opportunities in front of goal.
However, as Corriere della Sera reports, both players are not worried about the team’s current form and are confident that such hiccups are only part of the journey, a crucial aspect of this new season which will allow them to avoid similar mistakes in the future.
Both players so far have underperformed with Dybala collecting only two goals and one assist, and Pellegrini recording only two winning assists to his name.
Mourinho’s heavy reliance on them is another factor that is meant to underline the club’s key message – trust the process.
