Roma will face Empoli on the weekend without their captain, Lorenzo Pellegrini.
The Italian midfielder remains out with a muscle injury after his condition worsened in Italy’s training during the international break.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pellegrini is undergoing physiotherapy and has not trained with the rest of the team ahead of Sunday’s fixture with Empoli.
The newspaper reports that Roma’s medical staff are hoping to have Pellegrini back to ideal fitness levels for next week’s Europa League match with Sheriff in Tiraspol.
