Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini sounded proud of his teammates after last night’s win on aggregate vs Bayer Leverkusen.
In his post-match reaction with Roma TV, Pellegrini praised his team for defending against a strong opponent in a hostile environment.
“I’m the captain of a team of real men,” said Pellegrini. “I recognise the value of my teammates. Roma can and must improve in many things, but the identity of sacrificing ourselves is that a real group of men and cannot be taken away by anyone.”
“Leverkusen have strong individualities and dribbling. They were supposed to attack, but as a family we defended by putting ourselves there to suffer and we accomplished a feat.”
