Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini took the stage after the game and addressed the team’s shortcomings in tonight’s loss to Ludogorets in Roma’s first outing in this year’s Europa League.
“We had so many opportunities tonight,” Pellegrini told the club in a post-match interview.
“Now we have to regroup because on Monday we already have another game on the line. Today we wanted to win, we missed many opportunities. That cost us more than any defensive mistakes.”
“We must not lose our enthusiasm going forward,” he continued. “We have to work hard as we always do in Trigoria. It’s normal to expect more from us.”
“We have many possibilities to redeem ourselves, it is important to play every three days even if it has its drawbacks given many absences in our team.”
“As I said before this is a time to come together after two consecutive defeats. We have to turn things around starting on Monday.”
