Lorenzo Pellegrini recovers from COVID

RomaPress Staff

Roma boss Paulo Fonseca was given a huge boost ahead of this weekend’s league clash against Parma.

Lorenzo Pellegrini announced on his official Instagram page that he has tested negative this evening for COVID-19 — eleven days after he originally tested positive for the virus.

“Finally, I’ve tested negative (for COVID) and I’m ready to return very motivated,” wrote the midfielder.

The news comes as a huge lift to the Giallorossi ahead of the fixture against Fabio Liverani’s side, who will visit the Italian capital on Saturday afternoon.

It remains to be seen if Pellegrini will be ready in time to take part in the match as he must still undergo a medical examination — a requirement after a player receives two consecutive negative results.

Roma will already be without Federico Fazio, Davide Santon, Marash Kumbulla, and Edin Dzeko — all of whom remain in quarantine after having also been diagnosed with the Coronavirus last week.
