Lorenzo Pellegrini speaks on the eve of Milan return leg

Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini attended today’s press conference alongside Daniele De Rossi to preview the return leg with Milan in the Europa League quarterfinals.

“My silence until today was decided with the club, especially due to the two injuries I had in recent months. I have always been present for Roma with my teammates and that is the thing that interests me most.”

“Tomorrow is a type of match that a player always dreams of playing. We played a great game in Milan and I think tomorrow we can replicate that performance or perhaps play even better,” he added.

“The coach wants to convey to us a kind of mentality that pertains to teams like Real Madrid, but it is more of a general discussion. A strong team plays the match against Milan in the same way as a match against a lesser team in the league. There should be no distinction between the two.”

“Every day we have to work hard to deserve to wear the Roma shirt. Like the armband, you have to earn it every day of the year, at any time.”

“I feel good, and Roma have undertaken a path as a club that is working, and in my opinion it is the right path. We have not achieved any of the objectives we have in mind, but we must be enthusiastic about what we are doing without feeling satisfied.”

“I am what you see, someone who is always transparent, and I have an important role here which is not just wearing the armband but much more. I would never disrespect Roma because they have given me so much in life. What I do and what I will do will always be for the good of Roma.”

“I always believed that De Rossi would become a great coach, I didn’t expect him to be so ready. We are all happy to have him, we would walk through fire for him.”
