Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini acknowledged Curva Sud’s support in last night’s victory over Udinese.
Following the Curva’s decision to display a banner with a message of support for the Italian midfielder, Pellegrini responded to Roma TV’s questions about this initiative on the part of the home crowd.
“I wanted to thank them after scoring,” Pellegrini said. “I pointed to them because I didn’t want them to think I took their support for granted.”
“The goal gave me a huge boost. It was a goal that meant a lot to me and which I dedicate to them. I knew it before but today is further proof that I’m never alone and the same goes for them.”
“The comeback on Thursday? It’s not the first time we’re faced with such a situation. We know what to do, we need to all pull in the same direction. We’ll be playing 70,000 against 11. We must push hard because we must advance to the next round.”
