The Italian midfielder sustained a muscle injury during yesterday’s loss to the Bergamaschi but continued to play despite the pain in his left leg.
His condition and the extent of the injury will be assessed by Italy’s medical staff and a decision will be made that will determine whether the Roma captain will stay or leave international duty.
