Lorenzo Pellegrini is expected to sit out Roma’s upcoming Europa League engagement with Real Betis in a packed Stadio Olimpico on Thursday night.
The Roma captain was forced to exit the match with Inter late in the second half due to a tweak in his hamstring. Pellegrini underwent some medical tests at Trigoria on Monday morning which did not highlight any particular injury, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.
However, according to the Italia newspaper, Mourinho will probably choose not to risk the 26-year-old on Thursday night as the player’s condition continues to be monitored on a daily basis.
Pellegrini’s status for the upcoming league match with Lecce also remains doubtful for the time being.
