Italy manager and former Roma boss Luciano Spalletti discussed Daniele De Rossi’s progress as the Giallorossi’s head coach.
In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, Spalletti weighed in on his former player.
”I think I know him very well. I think that Daniele’s main merit, for what he is giving to Roma, comes from the fact that from day one he did not want to take advantage of the immense love that the fans have for him.”
“He quickly realised that that could be a boomerang advantage and put it aside to totally invest in the work on the pitch. He’s focused on nothing but the pitch.”
”He knows fully well that ideas can only lead to celebrating something through weekly work put in training.”
“I don’t know if Daniele has anything of me, but every now and then he reminds me of Mazzone, when the vein on his neck starts bulging he shows the kind of attitude that belonged to the great Carletto.”
