Luciano Spalletti discusses Mourinho friendship, shares Anguissa update ahead of Roma duel

Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti dedicated a large portion of today’s press conference to his friendship with Roma boss Jose Mourinho.

“He’s a super coach,” Spalletti said as he sat down to preview tomorrow night’s Serie A fixture at the Stadio Olimpico. “One of the best to do it. He’s one of those managers whom I followed the most for many years.”

“When he says hi to me I feel we share a close friendship. For me he’s a friend,” he added. “Both of us will have to make some choices tomorrow as we’ll be playing mid-week as well.”

“Tomorrow we can’t play differently from the last few times. That’s who we are. We have our qualities and they are important: the more we play in attack, the more we have a chance to win. We will have to be ready based on the things that can put us in difficulty.”

“Neapolitan fans love beautiful football, they want to see a team like ours: Naples is spectacular in every respect, the team must be the same.”

“I will not risk Anguissa tomorrow,” Spalletti said about his recently injured midfielder whose status for tomorrow night was questionable. “Osimhen is doing well and can play now.”
