Former Roma manager Luciano Spalletti reflected on his much talked about feud with Francesco Totti and their recent reconciliation.

In an interview with Rai 1, the Italy head coach commented on the matter from a few years ago, “I have always divided my career into the champions I have had. Totti has always had a good chunk of it, but I have to be honest: I have always defended the club and the team’s results.”

“I certainly wouldn’t have achieved the record of points in Serie A with Roma if I hadn’t been on good terms with Francesco. There was a dressing room where he was the captain anyway.”

“Being able to hug him after all this time was beautiful. With the passing of time I’m sure we’ll be in touch more often.”
