Luciano Spalletti on Daniele De Rossi’s ascent: “He’s done an excellent job.”

Italy manager and former Roma boss Luciano Spalletti spoke about Daniele De Rossi’s rise as the Giallorossi head coach in such a short amount of time.

During today’s presser ahead of the international break, Spalletti weighed in on De Rossi’s tenure in the Italian capital so far.

“He’s been very good, I’ve been picking on so many things he’s been implementing on the pitch and seeing him on the bench reminds me a bit of Carletto Mazzone.”

“He’s done an excellent job, it wasn’t easy to give this kind of mentality to the team in such a short amount of time. The team was already in place, but to be able to improve things is even more remarkable.”

“I want to give him my highest compliments and I hope he can continue like this,” he added. “I love him dearly, we spoke about what my dream scenario would entail for him, and if I could help him, I would and I will.”
