Italy manager Luciano Spalletti held a press conference earlier today ahead of the upcoming international friendlies the national team will hold in the US.
During his presser, Spalletti touched upon Lorenzo Pellegrini’s importance to Italy following his impressive return to form under Daniele De Rossi.
“We waited a long time for Pellegrini, I never had him available to me so far,” said Spalletti. “It’s easy to assess what the kind of player he is; he is a strong footballer who can do multiple things. He is someone who runs a lot and covers a lot of ground.”
“I don’t know what will happen from now until the EURO, but he is one of those players who can be counted on. I’m relying on him.”
“He had some problems, now he has fixed them. With De Rossi in charge he looks more at ease, he managed to show his trademark.”
