Luis Campos opens talks to depart Lille

Lille Sporting Director Luis Campos, one of the names that Roma have previously targeted, has opened negotiations to depart the French close.

The Portuguese executive has, according to Record and Eurosport, asked Lille President Gerard Lopez to be released from the remaining two years on his deal with the Ligue 1 club.

It remains to be seen if Lille will fulfill the request of Campos, who joined the club in 2017 after a multi-year spell at Monaco, as he is unhappy with the most recent transfer window and the general policy of the club.

Roma have been in contact with Campos over recent months, however, they were left with the feeling that the 56 year-old wanted to remain in France.

The Giallorossi are set to meet for the second time next week with Hamburg Sporting Director Jonas Boldt, who has emerged as the favorite to takeover the same role in the Italian capital.
