Ahead of the Euros semifinal between Spain and Italy at Wembley Stadium, the former Roma coach, Luis Enrique, spoke to Sky Sport about Italy’s national team and his time in the capital a decade ago.
“Now every game is more difficult. We’ll encounter an Italy that has fun, plays a beautiful brand of football and knows how to attack as well as defend. It is a very difficult team to beat. I expect a fun and intense game between two really good teams.”
When asked about Italy and Roma more specifically, he added, “I love Italy and I love Rome. It is an incredible city where I had a wonderful experience, if only for a year. For me, it’s a pleasure to play against Italy and we’ll do so again in November in Nations League.”
