Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar remains highly sought after after expressing his desire to leave the club this summer.
The 24 year-old has already drawn interest from a handful of clubs including Roma, Nice, and Real Sociedad—but a new suitor has emerged and is keen to acquire him.
L’Equipe reports Real Betis sporting director Antonio Cordón traveled to France to hold talks with Lyon executives regarding a transfer for the midfielder.
However, the Spaniards were dissuaded by the French side’s €20 million asking price for Aouar. As a result, they’ll have to offload a player before finalising a deal for the midfielder.
For his part, though, Aouar is hoping a club from the Premier League emerges in the coming days due to preferring a move to the UK.
