Former Roma and Inter defender Maicon was asked about Jose Mourinho’s recent dismissal from the Italian capital.

The Brazilian fullback – with whom Mourinho worked during their Nerazzurri years during which the duo won the famous Treble – discussed the Special One’s work with Roma over the last two and a half years.

“We have a chat with our teammates from the Treble-winning squad, Cuchu Cambiasso is also there, we always talk, we always send each other messages,” Maicon told Sky Sport.

“We have formed a beautiful friendship and it is always a pleasure to talk to each other, including with Mourinho. The other day we all had a video call together. They were special years. Josè did well in Rome, he won with them. I’m sorry that he left, but he is a great coach and he showed it in Rome too.”
