Manchester United fullback Diogo Dalot – rumoured to have been close to Roma in last year’s January window – was recently asked about his transfer to Old Trafford at the special request of former Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho.
In his interview with The Times, Dalot sounded grateful to the Special One for his belief and loyalty.
“At the time I didn’t know if the negotiations were going to be successful. I got the opportunity to talk to Mourinho and it was great.”
“I will never forget what he did for me. Many coaches wouldn’t have signed a player who had suffered a big injury like I did, but he believed in me.”
“He will always be in my heart for the small and big things he did for me,” Dalot concluded.
