Manchester United interested in Joe Rodon, ready to sell Smalling

John Solano

English tabloid The Mirror has reported that Manchester United are eyeing up a £20 million move for Swansea City’s Joe Rodon.

Reportedly, Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær is interested in the 22 year-old and is willing to sell Chris Smalling, who’s on-loan at Roma this term, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo in order to acquire him.

The news will surely give a boost to Roma, who have made it clear they want to keep Smalling in the Italian capital beyond the expiration of his loan spell.

The Englishman has been arguably one of the best defenders in Serie A this campaign and both the player and manager Paulo Fonseca have expressed their desires to make the loan move permanent.

However, given the financial hardships brought upon by the Coronavirus, it remains to be seen if Roma will ultimately be able to afford a move for the Englishman.
