Nicolò Schira of La Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that Roma and Manchester United remain locked-in negotiations for Chris Smalling.

The Englishman has impressed since joining the capital side this summer and both he and the club are keen to make his loan move permanent. Reportedly, the Giallorossi have offered €15 million plus €3 million in bonuses for the Smalling. However, the Red Devils continue to hold firm on their asking price of €20 million.

There is confidence inside Roma that they’ll eventually find an agreement as they already have a five-year contract worth €3.2 million (net) per season ready for Smalling.
