Manchester United’s Timothy Fosu-Mensah could be inserted into Smalling deal

Chris Smalling’s move to Roma is getting closer, but he may not be the only Manchester United player that moves to the Italian capital.

Sky Sport reports that after the Red Devils rejected the Giallorossi’s request to include the loan of defender Diogo Dalot into the deal, Roma have asked that Dutch fullback Timothy Fosu-Mensah be added instead.

The operation for Smalling is incredibly close to concluding for a figure of around 15 million plus bonuses and, reportedly, Fosu-Mensah, whose contract expires next summer, could also arrive as part of the deal.

The deal is expected to conclude in the coming hours and could be finalised by tomorrow.
