Roma central defender Gianluca Mancini appeared on Roma TV following the Giallorossi’s thumping of Fiorentina.
The Italian lauded Roma’s approach and also singled out fellow central defender Chris Smalling, who played his first league match of the season after overcoming a knee injury that kept him out for the previous three weeks.
“We really played well. Other than the first 10 minutes, they didn’t really give us a problem,” Mancini stated. ”We stayed very compact tonight.”
“We’ve started well this season. We’re more familiar with each and we’ve added great players such as Smalling.”
”It’s not as if we’re just finding it out today, but he’s an important and experienced player. Even when he was injured he made himself heard but having him on the pitch is important for us.”
