Roma were able to breathe a sigh of relief yesterday after both Gianluca Mancini and Jordan Veretout underwent MRI scans following the injuries they both suffered in the loss against Napoli.
The scans revealed no serious muscle damage to either player and the pair will not miss a significant amount of time. However, manager Paulo Fonseca could be forced to play without the duo for this weekend’s fixture against Sassuolo.
Defender Gianluca Mancini will miss the match against the Neroverdi while Veretout’s availability for the clash is still up in the air. Meanwhile, the Giallorossi will also be without Chris Smalling this weekend as the Englishman continues to suffer from knee pain, which has hampered his availability over the past two months.
Roma did welcome back, though, fellow central defenders Marash Kumbulla and Federico Fazio, both of whom recovered from Coronavirus this week after being diagnosed for the virus last month.
