Roma continue their search for a sporting director.
Frederic Massara will part ways with the Giallorossi on June 30th thanks to a clause in his contract, and the club has listed several candidates as successors: Sean Sogliano’s potential is rising in recent hours.
Furthermore, Matteo Moretto has confirmed the Hellas Verona sporting director’s appointment.
According to the well-known transfer market expert, the Verona executive is highly regarded by the Friedkins, and this is a potential option in the coming weeks.
However, Giovanni Manna was the top candidate in the Sports Directors’ casting.
The Friedkins tried everything to free him from Napoli, but their efforts were not enough: Aurelio De Laurentiis has no intention of overhauling the management structure and continues to maintain a rigid stance on the director’s possible departure.
In the last few hours, a rekindled interest has also emerged.
The Giallorossi have also been linked with the Spanish director Ramon Planes, formerly of Barcelona. It would appear, however, that the Texans are intent on bringing an Italian to the capital, with Sogliano rising in the ranks.
