Corriere della Sera (Piacentini): With 439 minutes played so far, Kostas Manolas is the central defender who has started the most among those available to Eusebio Di Francesco, who rested him only against Benevento. Yet three months ago, the Greek had accepted the €4 million offer in net wages from Zenit St. Petersburg only to re-think his decision then reject the offer. A “no” which then lead to the sale of Rüdiger. Now, things are aimed towards the renewal of his contract, which is expiring in 2019: sporting director Monchi and Manolas’ agent have worked and are close to extending the contract until 2022. Manolas will earn €3 million, with a release clause of about €30 million: protection for both him and also the club, who paid about €13 million plus €2 million in bonuses for the player in 2014.
