Roma midfielder Manu Koné made his debut for Didier Deschamps’ team in last night’s loss to Italy.
The 23-year-old came on for the first time to represent France’s senior squad in the second half of their 1-3 defeat to Italy.
After the game, Manu Koné remarked, “It’s a reason to be proud on an individual level. But, at the end of the day, I was really counting to win this match.”
“A disaster? I think it’s a bit too harsh, we just lost. We hoped to do better. We are a team, we win together and we lose together,” he added.
“It’s not a question of fragility, we had to be more effective in both phases and we seemed to lack energy. We will try to do better against Belgium.”
“We have quality, there are great players in this team. We are competitive and we were not happy in the dressing room. We lost at home, but we will recover.”
